Joy Jansen is the Director of Special Education, Elementary School Counseling, and Nursing for the Lake Pend Oreille School District (LPOSD) in Sandpoint, Idaho.\u00a0<\/h2>\n

For over 25 years, Dr. Joy Jansen has worked in the field of serving individuals with special needs that span the continuum from elementary to postsecondary education. Before LPOSD she served as the Director of Special Education\/Learning Center for two therapeutic residential schools in northern Idaho.<\/p>\n

Joy obtained her Ph.D. in Education with a focus in neuropsychological deficiencies from the University of Idaho and holds an M.Ed. in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has an extensive background in working with children, adolescents, and adults in the areas of specific learning disabilities, attention-deficit\/hyperactivity disorder, autism spectrum disorder, transition, and various mental health conditions.<\/p>\n

Over the years, Joy has presented at local, state, and national conferences on such topics as executive functioning, cognition, social and emotional learning, trauma-informed practices, attachment and learning, and the importance of teacher-student relationships.<\/p>\n

Joy is focused on supporting the youth of her community and fills her passion for experiential and place-based education serving as the Education Advisor for Selkirk Outdoor Leadership and Education (SOLE).<\/p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section]\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"

Jessica Daily currently works within the Educational and Community Supports (ECS) research unit in the College of Education at the University of Oregon.<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The ECS research unit provides support to over 25,000 educational organizations around the world who are implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). In addition, ECS provides access to various web-based applications which allow schools to collect, monitor, and use fidelity and outcome data related to school-wide discipline and behavior support systems. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her current roles are leading the training team for PBIS Applications, as well as participating on the project team for the TIPS Ed Tech research project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prior to this role, Jessica worked for the Colorado Department of Education, as part of the leadership team for the state-wide PBIS initiative. Within this role, she gained experience with PBIS implementation at the district and school level, MTSS & PBIS systems coaching, professional development, and implementation science. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jessica received an MEd in School Psychology from Loyola University-Chicago in 2001 and recently completed her EdD in the Educational, Methodology, and Leadership Program at the University of Oregon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her passion is to help educators develop positive learning environments for kids.  She is a self-proclaimed \"data geek\"\u009d who loves to use data to inform practices and support positive change in our educational systems. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
